EloTiers Mod Guide
What the Mod Does
The EloTiers mod is a Minecraft client mod for quickly viewing EloTiers player information while playing. It is focused on ranking visibility, profile lookup, tier context, and faster access to competitive player data.
Search a Minecraft player and view available EloTiers profile data without leaving the game flow.
See per-mode tier information from supported ranking sources in a compact, readable format.
Use ranks, tiers, and mode labels to understand where a player sits inside a specific PvP kit.
Use the website for full profiles, leaderboards, downloads, and expanded ranking pages.
Installation
- Install a compatible Fabric loader for your Minecraft version.
- Download the EloTiers mod from the home page download section on this site.
- Move the downloaded
.jarfile into your Minecraftmodsfolder. - Start Minecraft with the Fabric profile.
- Join a server or open a world and verify that the EloTiers mod loads without errors.
Note: Only the mod .jar belongs in the mods folder. Do not unzip it and do not copy build folders, source files, or website output into Minecraft.
First Use
After launching Minecraft with the mod installed, open the EloTiers interface or use the available command to search a player. The mod should show profile information only when the API has data for that player.
- If a player has no available tier source, the mod should show an empty or unranked state.
- If a source is unavailable, the mod should not invent or translate ranks from another source.
- If a username recently changed, search the current Minecraft name first.
Core Features
Player Profiles
Profiles are centered around the Minecraft account, available ranking sources, per-mode tier entries, and optional EloTiers server statistics.
Per-Mode Tiers
A tier belongs to a specific mode such as Sword, Pot, UHC, Axe, SMP, NethOP, Mace, or Vanilla. Do not compare a player's tier in one mode as if it was their global skill level.
Tablist Badges
The mod can add compact EloTiers, MCTiers, PvPTiers, and SubTiers badges to the player tab list. You can enable or disable the complete tablist display or individual sources.
Nametag Badges
The mod can render ranking badges above player nametags. The active category controls which mode is shown, and the vertical badge offset can be adjusted.
Source Separation
External tier sources are shown as their own data sections. A missing value in one source should stay missing instead of being filled with another source.
Title Screen Matchmaking
The mod adds an EloTiers matchmaking entry on the Minecraft title screen. Unranked matchmaking is available from the UI, with support for competitive rankings and seasonal leaderboards.
In-game Commands
These are the active client-side commands registered by the current Fabric mod. Commands run locally in your Minecraft client and use online-player tab completion where a player argument is available.
| Command | Purpose |
|---|---|
| /elotiers | Show the in-game help output, current active category, tablist source states, nametag source states, and nametag distance. |
| /elotiers <player> | Shortcut for player lookup. Shows the compact multi-source view for the selected player. |
| /elotiers lookup <player> | Look up a player and display all available EloTiers, MCTiers, PvPTiers, and SubTiers data in one compact chat output. |
| /tierlist <player> | Show a compact MCTiers-focused tier overview for a player. This is the quick command when you only want the tier list view. |
| /elotiers category | Show the currently selected category used by tablist and nametag badges. |
| /elotiers category <category> | Set the active mode/category for tablist and nametag badges. Use clear or off to disable category filtering. |

| /elotiers toggletierlist | Toggle all tablist badge sources at once. |
| /elotiers toggletierlist <source> | Toggle one tablist source. Accepted sources are elotiers, mctiers, pvptiers, subtiers, and all. |

| /elotiers nametagdistance | Show the current vertical offset used for rendered nametag badges. |

Ranking Data and Sources
The mod displays ranking data from EloTiers API responses. Data can include MC Tiers, PvP Tiers, SubTiers, and custom EloTiers server stats depending on what exists for a player.
- MC Tiers: Mode-specific source tier and rank values.
- PvP Tiers: Separate source data when that source returns rankings for the player.
- SubTiers: Separate source data when that source returns rankings for the player.
- Server Stats: EloTiers server-integrated stats such as Elo, matches, wins, losses, kills, and deaths when available.
Missing data means the selected source has no ranking for that player or mode. It should be displayed as empty, unranked, or unavailable.
Troubleshooting
The mod does not appear in-game
Confirm that Fabric is installed, the EloTiers .jar is inside the mods folder, and the Minecraft version matches the mod version.
A player has no tier data
That player may not be ranked in the selected source. Search the player on the profile page to confirm whether any source currently has data.
Values look outdated
Profile data can be cached briefly. Refresh the profile view or try again later if a source recently changed.
The game crashes on launch
Remove other recently added mods temporarily and test EloTiers alone. If it works alone, another mod or incompatible loader version is likely involved.
PvP Tools
The website also includes command builders for summon commands, items, blocks, loot tables, NPCs and murals.
Open Command BuildersElo System Explained
Elo is a rating system where players gain or lose points based on match results. Winning against a stronger opponent is worth more than winning against a weaker opponent. Losing to a lower-rated opponent costs more than losing to a higher-rated opponent.
Rating Ranges
Tier Context
Minecraft tier lists are usually mode-specific. A player can be strong in Sword, weaker in Pot, and untested in Mace. Treat each kit as its own ranking context.
