Terms of Service
These terms govern your use of elotiers.com, the EloTiers public API and the EloTiers mod. By using any of them you agree to what follows.
What EloTiers provides
EloTiers is a ranking and statistics service for competitive Minecraft PvP. It records match results from connected servers, calculates per-kit ratings from those results, displays tiers published by external community sources, and provides player profiles, clan pages and a set of Minecraft tools.
EloTiers is an independent community project. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Mojang Studios or Microsoft, and it is not affiliated with the community tier lists whose values it displays.
Accounts and account linking
Browsing the public parts of the site requires no account. Creating one requires signing in through a supported provider, and claiming a Minecraft profile requires completing the proof step that demonstrates you control that Minecraft account.
You are responsible for activity on your account. Do not attempt to claim a Minecraft account you do not control, do not share account access, and do not create accounts to evade a restriction placed on a previous one.
Acceptable use
Use EloTiers in a way that keeps it working for everyone else. In particular, do not attempt to manipulate ratings through arranged matches, result farming or automated play; do not attempt to gain unauthorised access to accounts, servers or administrative functions; and do not upload or submit content that is unlawful, harassing or designed to impersonate another player.
Ratings that are found to be the product of manipulation may be reset, and the accounts involved may lose access to ranked features.
Public API
The public API exists so the community can build on EloTiers data. Use it at a reasonable request rate, identify your application honestly, cache responses rather than re-requesting identical data in a loop, and attribute EloTiers as the source when you display the data.
Access may be rate-limited or withdrawn for clients that place a disproportionate load on the service or that redistribute the data in a way that misrepresents its origin.
The mod
The EloTiers mod is a client-side companion that shows rankings, tier colours, clan tags and the friends list in game. While the social features are enabled it reports your presence — your Minecraft name and the server you are currently connected to — to keep your friends list and clan status live. This is described in more detail in the Privacy Policy. You can disable the social features at any time in the mod configuration; the rest of the mod continues to work without sending presence data.
Clans
Clan tags and names are public and must not be offensive, impersonate another clan, or infringe someone else's rights. Clan scores are calculated from member ratings and cannot be set manually. Clans found to exist solely to manipulate scores may be removed.
Ranking data and accuracy
Ratings and tiers are provided as-is. They reflect the matches that were actually recorded on connected servers and, where shown, the assessments published by external communities. They are not a guaranteed measure of a player's ability and should not be treated as one.
EloTiers may adjust its rating calculation, add or retire ladders, or correct records that are found to be inaccurate. Where such a change materially affects existing ratings, it will be announced before it takes effect.
Availability and liability
The service is provided without warranty of uninterrupted availability. Maintenance, infrastructure failures and upstream outages can make parts of the site unavailable. To the extent permitted by law, EloTiers is not liable for losses arising from unavailability, from inaccuracies in ranking data, or from your use of the public API.
Changes and termination
These terms may be updated as the service develops; material changes will be announced before they take effect. You may delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate access where these terms are breached, and will explain the reason where doing so does not compromise the integrity of the ranking system.
