How to read the EloTiers ladders
The leaderboards on this page are split into three views. Duelscovers the one-versus-one kits — Sword, Pot, UHC, Axe, Mace, NethOP, SMP and Vanilla — where each kit keeps an independent rating. Games covers the larger formats such as SpeedUHC, MeetupUHC, Classic UHC and SkyWars, where placement across a lobby matters more than a single fight. Clans ranks groups rather than individuals, using a score calculated from member ratings.
A ladder position is most useful as a mode-specific reference point, not a global verdict on a player. Someone sitting high on the Pot ladder and mid-table on UHC is not inconsistent — those kits test different decisions. Reading the ladders side by side tells you where a player is genuinely reliable, where they are still improving, and which matchups they tend to avoid.
The source selector lets you switch between the EloTiers rating and community tier sources such as MCTiers, PvPTiers and SubTiers. Values are always labelled with their origin, so a number sourced from a community list is never presented as an EloTiers result.
What each ladder measures
Kits differ enough that a shared ranking would flatten the things that actually distinguish players. Here is what each ladder is testing.
Sword
Pure melee consistency. Rewards stable click timing, combo extension and knockback control. Ratings here move slowly because outcomes are decided by repeatable mechanics rather than one-off decisions.
Pot
Inventory management under pressure. Splash timing, refill discipline and knowing when to disengage matter more than raw aim. Ratings are volatile because a single mistimed pot can end a fight.
UHC
Resource and terrain decisions. No natural regeneration means chasing a kill is often the wrong call. Strong UHC players are frequently mid-table on Sword and vice versa.
Axe
Burst damage and shield interaction. Trades are shorter and higher stakes, so positioning going into an engagement carries more weight than sustained mechanics.
Mace
Vertical control and windup commitment. Rewards players who read opponent movement well enough to land a heavy hit without exposing themselves during recovery.
NethOP, SMP and Vanilla
Gear-dependent formats where preparation and enchant choices shape the fight before it starts. Ratings reflect decision quality across a longer engagement rather than a single duel.
Frequently asked questions about rankings
How is the visible Elo on EloTiers calculated?
Every supported kit keeps its own rating pool. A match result moves both players' ratings by an amount that depends on the gap between them: beating a much stronger opponent moves your rating more than beating someone below you, and losing to a weaker player costs more than losing to a favourite. Ratings are stored per mode, so a strong Sword rating never inflates your Pot or UHC number.
Why does a player have a different rank on each ladder?
Sword, Pot, UHC, Axe, Mace, NethOP, SMP and Vanilla reward different skills. Pot rewards inventory management and refill timing, UHC rewards resource decisions and terrain use, Sword rewards clicking consistency and combo control. Collapsing those into one number hides more than it explains, so EloTiers keeps a separate ladder per kit.
What do the external tier sources mean?
Alongside the EloTiers rating, profiles can display tiers reported by community sources such as MCTiers, PvPTiers and SubTiers. These are community-assigned tiers, not EloTiers results. They are labelled with their origin so you can tell which number came from where, and a missing external tier only means that source has not rated the player.
How often do the leaderboards update?
Ladder positions recalculate as matches are recorded by connected servers. A page load fetches the current standings rather than a cached daily snapshot, so a rating change from a recent match appears on the next refresh.
How are clan rankings derived?
A clan's score is computed from the ratings of its members rather than entered by hand. That means a clan climbs when its roster improves and drops when strong members leave, and it cannot be inflated by recruiting a large number of inactive accounts.
